It is said that people in the Edo Period ate rice topped with diced leaves or denbu (parched and seasoned fish). Furikake (seasoned sprinkles) brings all sorts of flavors to rice. This line of souvenir products includes “Isogoma Ichiban” (sea vegetable and sesame seeds), “Goma Katsuo” (sesame and bonito), and “Sakura Ebi” (sakura shrimp), as well as yakinori (grilled laver), which are made taking advantage of the characteristics of the ingredients.
